SPREADING FIRST AND FTC THROUGHOUT OUR LOCAL COMMUNITIES
Updated after every new event we participate in.
Our team was able to reach out to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA); a government agency! In this call our team was able to learn more about the NOAA and what they do. We were able to speak with a NOAA representative invaluable knowledge about the different spheres in the earth and our oceans.
Our team went to a nearby library (Dolly Madison) and we were able present our chassis and robot to many people and bring our 3D printer for everyone to view as well. We were able to reach many middle schoolers and talk to them about what our team does as a whole and what FIRST and FTC is.
In this event, we wanted mainly children in elementary schools to get interested in robotics, instead of middle school children. We partnered with the Kid Museum in Bethesda in order to create a stand. We were able to talk to many kids and let them drive the robot and use the other features on it as well.
On the day of the event, it was managed entirely by our new junior members, our team got young kids interested in STEM activities; specifically robotics. We demonstrated how our robot worked as well.
In this event we showed kids our robot and an entire FTC game. Which allowed us to teach kids about FTC. This was also a good learning experience for us, where we got to learn about AI.

An FLL team from New Jersey reached out to us for feedback on their FLL Core Values research project. They developed an app using Django that displays the varying prices of electricity.
In our virtual meeting, we provided feedback regarding changing the order of information displayed in the app and adding better examples for core values.
